Build Reuse - General

Reuse & "Design for Disassembly" at a Regional Scale

Project name

Building Reuse Innovation Center

[PROPOSED PROJECT; NOT YET DEVELOPED]

Location San Francisco, CA
Description
  • "Concept for a material reuse facility focused on streamlining deconstruction and redistribution through workforce development, inventory storage and management, and community engagement."
  • "The intent of the facility is to increase reuse capabilities and broaden demand for recovered
commercial construction materials while providing significant benefits for the surrounding community."
  • "The proposed concept is based upon a model that assumes easy disassembly and relocation with a typical site occupancy taking place over a roughly 5 year period."
  • "Materials would be aggregated at the facility to be channeled to both new construction projects and to manufacturer take-back programs."

Circular Construction in Regenerative Cities (CIRCuIT)

Location
Netherlands
Description
"Collaborative project running from 2019-2023 and involves 31 ambitious partners across the built environment chain in Copenhagen, Hamburg, the Helsinki Region and Greater London."
