1. Upload examples of what you've used for your project (and what worked/didn't work)
2. Comment on the patterns that are posted below (and why you think it works, doesn't work)

Server side validation and error recovery (errors identified on submit):

Here's a link to the audit of existing error patterns used throughout Westpac & STG:

This is great! Although, do we want to use the error/alert styles that are currently in the GUI? I.e. no exclamation mark symbol for inline errors and an exclamation mark instead of a sad face for the error summary?

True that! I've updated the images to reflect what's in the GUI.

Also, there are some instances of errors in public site, namely calculators. And as per your review, some of them are pretty shocking (e.g. St. George home loan borrowing power calculator).

With this, I'd recommend scrolling up to either to the first error, or the error summary.  We noticed this in Wonder that on a long form, when you click on the submit button, it highlights the fields up the page but no immediate visual feedback to user of an error.  Also worth thinking about errors in collapsed accordion tabs - take a look at the St George Home Loan app form https://homeloan.stgeorge.com.au/clasweb/index.html?load=n&brand=SGB - we showed error states in the accordion header.

Hope all that helps! :-)

cheers

Alan
