Problem with FEniCS Tutorial, chapter 4.5 (Generating meshes with subdomains)

I followed the tutorial but at the and I did not get mesh as is shown in Figure 4.3 in the book. Then I copied ft11_magnetostatics.py and the result is the same. Problem is that circle wires are not refined and mesh density is (almost) equally distributed over the whole domain. What is the easiest way to obtain refined mesh in this tutorial?

I do not see place in the code where some sort of refinement is used, and defining subdomains does not change mesh density (at least in my version of FEniCS).
