Hi there,

I am using fenics stable:1.6.0 and all of a sudden i have started encountering this error when ever i compile my code

IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device

Can any one suggest the reason of this error and how to overcome it ?

Thanks

thanks for the prompt response Adam. yea i have read few similar posts on python and docker discussion groups but all these seem to suggest contradicting and at times 'just format all' type strategies. Is there a short way to overcome .. or it would be necessary to format my drive form the scratch.

Input from community would really save my time and effort.

thanks. Here 's the screen shot of error:-

What about

df -h $INSTANT_CACHE_DIR ~/.instant

Have you tried rebooting the machine?

when i used this command it says (pasted below) that complete 18 GB has been used. How to delete unwanted files from this cache ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
fenics@a4be32e5391a:~/shared$ df -h $INSTANT_CACHE_DIR ~/.instant
df: /home/fenics/.instant: No such file or directory
Filesystem  Size  Used   Avail  Use%    Mounted on
/dev/sda1  18G   18G     0      100%    /home/fenics/.cache/fenics

Seems like the most obvious answer "go get a new hard drive" was the right one.

Possibly there is a terribly big amount of entries in your JIT cache and/or the cache is on FAT? If this is the case, wipe it by

instant-clean
dijitso clean
Have tried that , but the there is no change. I have attached screen shot of complete error.
