Taiwanese / Chinese users who use Wing IDE for Linux and Fcitx as their input framework could encounter the issue its unable to switch to Fcitx to input Chinese. Here is the solution:

  1. Find libfcitxplatforminputcontextplugin.so from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/platforminputcontexts/
  2. Find the path of platforminputcontexts of Wing IDE: /usr/lib/wingide-personal6/bin/runtime-qt5.5/plugins/platforminputcontexts
  3. Copy libfcitxplatforminputcontextplugin.so to platforminputcontexts of Wing IDE:
    1. sudo cp /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/platforminputcontexts/libfcitxplatforminputcontextplugin.so /usr/lib/wingide-personal6/bin/runtime-qt5.5/plugins/platforminputcontexts/
  4. Restart Wing IDE.

This may not work for all combinations of qt versions.  We'll see if we can bundle this input context with Wing.
